I don't think it's Lifeson strikin g the D-note & tremoloing very slightly with the whammy bar. In the pre-chorus sections (Rabbit feels/speeding wheels parts), it is my very firm opiniion that the guitar is only playing the chords and is no t playing the low bass D's notes, filler notes, & the little slide before the Dm chords at the 10th fret. That's all Geddy's punchy-trebley Steinberger bass not Alex's guitar. Also during this section, Alex varies his strum amount (pattern/speed) at times. I 've put finger ID's where I feels it would be useful or needed for proper execut ion within the solo.
